The Climbing Claw is the utility appendage of PowerArmor and BattleArmor units.

Description[]

The Climbing Claw is mounted on the left 'arm' of certain PowerArmor suits such as the Elemental and the BattleArmor created by Lieutenant Foster. The purpose of the claw is to allow the armor to latch onto the side of a building or wall that is too high to scale in a single burst from the armor's JumpJets, and wait in place while the JumpJets recharge. Pragmatically, the claw can also be used to tare through hostile Infantry that come too close to the armor.

The Climbing Claw can also be used to latch onto a friendly VTOL and allow for aerial transit of the armor across the battlefield. While attached to a VTOL, the armor's Pulse Laser is overcharged allowing for the armor to engage enemy forces on the ground and provide fire support for allies. The claw can also be used to latch onto the backs of friendly BattleMechs in order to transport the armor quickly and shield it from enemy fire while charging towards enemy vehicles.

Lastly, the Climbing Claw's most powerful feature is its ability to penetrate hostile 'Mechs and perform a Neuro-Hack, though this feature is exclusive to Foster's BattleArmor and cannot be performed by the less advanced Elemental.
