MechAssault: Phantom War is the latest game of the popular MechAssault series and is part of the Battletech universe created by FASA.
Players assume the role of Lyran BattleMech pilot Vallen Brice, in a 3D environment with a third person view of the combat via the top screen of the DS, while the touch screen displays the inside of the cockpit and acts as the game's controls.
The player must travel the Inner Sphere with their crew consisting of Commander Hauptman Jane Faulkner and Tech Warrant Vernon Styles to hunt down the rouge Dante Fierus of the ACM Militia, who plan to turn the HPG Array into a set of super weapons.
