Mech Basics[]
'Mechs are the primary vehicles of the MechAssault and MechWarrior games, with most game play taking place almost entirely within the 'Mechs. The only exception to this being MechAssault 2, in which you could exit your' Mech to pilot other vehicles. BattleMechs can weigh between 30 - 100 tonnes, and can travel at speeds anywhere from 19 - 45 MPH (30 - 72 KPH). Unlike traditional games, 'Mechs in MechAssault control a lot more easily with no need to worry about rotating the torso as well as the legs, or having to increased your speed manually. Cycling through weapons is significantly easier as well.
Description for each BattleMech Class[]
- Light 'Mech: "Light 'Mechs are fast and nimble. They are great for scouting missions and quick hit and run assignments."
- Medium 'Mech: "Medium 'Mechs are also a very fast class of 'Mechs, and they can take considerably more damage in battle than Light 'Mechs. They are a good choice for a combination of speed and power."
- Heavy 'Mech: "Heavy 'Mechs are a little slower than the lighter classes, but they make up for it in firepower and the highest defense rating on the battlefield. If you want to get in close and mix it up, the Heavy 'Mechs are for you."
- Assault 'Mech: "Assault 'Mechs are the heaviest class of all. They're not fast, and they offer less defensive capacity than Heavy 'Mechs - but they're 100 tons of pure, destructive thunder."
Each 'Mech class has its own valuable niche. Light 'Mechs can be used to steal salvage from opponents, provide chip damage alongside heavier teammates, and redirect attention from other immediate threats. Medium 'Mechs are a good lead against opponents, as they retain high speed while being able to carry more firepower. Heavy 'Mechs are often the source of most offensive momentum, but can also provide valuable support through stronger weaponry and special abilities. Assault 'Mechs have even stronger offenses than Heavy 'Mechs, and can be the defining factor in a match.

Boss 'Mechs[]
The Spider 'Mech is the first boss fought in MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf. An ancient and mysterious machine built using technology lost to time, it is the greatest instrument of war ever created by Jerome Blake, its solitary purpose being to guard its creator's knowledge stored within the Data Core that provides the 'Mech with its great power. |
The Mini Spider company are the second boss' to appear in MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf. Reverse engineered by Nemesis using the information stored within the Spider 'Mechs Plasma Data Core, the Mini Spiders are small, unmanned combat vehicles designed to overwhelm enemy BattleMechs by attacking in force as a swarm and using their ability to Neuro-Hack enemy 'Mechs to disable their enemies rather than destroy them. |
The Uber 'Mech is the third and final boss to appear in MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf. Built by Nemesis using the combined power of all Five Data Cores left by Jerome Blake, the Uber 'Mech is styled by its creator as "the ultimate union of man and machine". Nemesis intends for this Goliath to be the super weapon at the core of his army as the Word of Blake sweeps aside all resistance on its path to dominion over the Inner Sphere. |
